During the first years of the XVII century (1600), the Prince Giovan Carlo de Medici planned to convert the villa to a place of amusements and delights, adorned by sumptuous decorations.

 The result of such plan is still well preserved: the grandiose levanter gallery, designed and frescoed by Pandolfo Sacchi and the Passignano;

The frescoes, the taste and the style of the last medicean villa privately owned

The southern rooms, where the love scenes of Psyche and Love alternate with the tales of Armida and Erminia, the haunting scenes and the gracious games of the children;

finally, the two renowned frescoes of Giovanni da San Giovanni and Francesco Albani, that competed on the same mythological theme on the vaults of two rooms adjacent to the main entrance.
